The Black pigment extraction

I was a guest at the Latvijas Mākslas akadēmija / Art Academy of Latvia to lead a masterclass on extracting black pigment from wood charcoal, to share this technique with the postgraduate students from the two departments of Drawing and POST.

Sharing lies at the heart of a journey that began in 2020 with Studio campione, created as part of Progetto Borca wit Dolomiti Contemporanee.

Thanks to the Drawing and the POST departments, to all the MA students and to everyone has been involved to make it happen, especially Kristaps Ancans, Elīna Zunde and Ansis Rozentāls.
